Like a journey through a stage of life that is harsh, confusing, and uncomfortable, sometimes unpleasant but always necessary, Horizons: Dusk, the new EP by emerging singer-songwriter Adrian Lyles, could be described exactly that way.

In just three songs, the rising indie-pop artist takes listeners on a journey from fleeting joy, captured in a subtle half-smile, to the sorrow and anguish that come with self-reflection.

The EP begins with Peace of Mind, a track built on a looping, infectious melody that lingers effortlessly in memory. While Adrian sketches a scene filled with doubt and discomfort, he holds firmly to the promise that, in the end, everything will be alright.

He continues the journey with Why Not, a more dramatic and intense piece where questioning takes center stage. Through a barrage of unanswered questions, Lyles explores change and identity, but above all, uncertainty.

Finally, Horizons: Dusk closes with Don’t Expect Much, an acoustic and deeply melancholic song that the artist himself has called the most honest he’s ever written. A weeping guitar accompanies Adrian as, for the third time, he proves his gift as a performer.

Each of the three songs comes with its own music video, filmed in the same studio and designed as a mini-series in three chapters. Lighting, shadows, camera movement, and Adrian’s expressions make each piece stand as a unique work of art.

Horizons: Dusk is the second installment of a conceptual trilogy that began with Dawn and will conclude with Night. Together, the three explore how choices shape life and emotions: the radiant beginnings of falling in love, the burden of carrying one’s past, and, finally, the liberation needed to grow.

Trained at the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas and first known to audiences for his role as Jet in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Adrian has skillfully merged disciplines to build a language of his own. His background includes years of instrumental practice, songwriting, and stage experience—from his childhood performances with the nonprofit Melody of Hope to recent U.S. tours alongside indie-pop band Almost Monday.

This time, Adrian Lyles delivers three songs that serve as mirrors: vulnerable, contradictory, and deeply human. And while each Horizons EP carries its own identity, together they create a greater narrative about the cycles of transformation we all experience and—inevitably—feel.
