Amidst the array of horological marvels unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva, A. Lange & Söhne retains its status as the pinnacle of fine watchmaking with the introduction of its latest creation: the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON PERPETUAL CALENDAR “Lumen.” Strictly limited to just 50 pieces, this exceptional timepiece combines both a tourbillon and a perpetual calendar, while boasting legibility in the dark due to its luminous technology.

Presented in the classic LANGE 1 design with its signature asymmetrical dial, the watch debuts the German manufacturer’s first-ever luminous moon-phase display, complete with an integrated day/night indication. A celestial disc forms the lunar orbit—displaying a light sky during the day and, at night, a dark sky laced with luminous stars. The moon-phase display deviates from the true lunar cycle by only one day after 122.6 years.

A semi-transparent dial serves more than an aesthetic purpose; it allows UV light to charge the luminous compounds beneath, ensuring every indication glows in the dark like a shimmering tapestry. The outsize date, day-of-week, and time displays are arranged in an isosceles triangle, while the months are positioned on a peripheral ring.

The watch, encased in a 41.9mm platinum case with a 950 platinum buckle, is contrasted by a black alligator strap. Powering the timepiece is the new self-winding L225.1 calibre, which facilitates the tourbillon, perpetual calendar, and moon-phase display. The sapphire crystal caseback reveals a central rotor in 18k white gold, signed by A. Lange & Söhne, while hand-engraved solarization and star motifs embellish the tourbillon cock and intermediate-wheel cock.

The LANGE 1 TOURBILLON PERPETUAL CALENDAR “Lumen” is where tradition, innovation, and beauty form a constellation. As the most intricate piece in the LANGE 1 family and limited to only 50 pieces, it possesses an extraordinary pedigree. This luminous, contemporary, and technically masterful example of haute horlogerie is tailored for the discerning collector and connoisseur.
