This December [UNTITLED Art Fair Miami](https://untitledartfairs.com) will welcome Miami-based Antonia Wright and Ruben Millares to present their project _It is not down on any map; true places never are_. This kinetic outdoor sculpture will rest on the beach as a part of the art fair’s new Monuments initiative. Wright and Millares’ sculpture will consist of two flagpoles, connected by a motorized chain holding 16 flags. The chain will move around the sculpture, raising and lowering the flags continuously along the two beams.
Wright and Millares have been working together for nearly 10 years now, and this project continues their work of challenging social conventions and encountering issues of identity. The two began working together using their bodies to achieve this, but recently they are moving to sculptural installations as a proxy for this commentary. _It is not down on any map; true places never are_ calls attention to power dynamics, animating the flags and changing their position on the beams as well as in relation to the spectator. The two twenty foot flagpoles will sit atop a 7 foot platform, dwarfing the viewer in the sands below.
