In honor of the brand’s 180th anniversary, Tiffany & Co. has announced a new exhibition, Vision & Virtuosity. Scheduled to open to the public in Shanghai, China, on September 23rd, the show will look back at some of the legendary jeweler’s finest creative achievements. “These two values—vision and virtuosity—lie at the heart of Tiffany & Co.,” said Tiffany & Co.’s chief executive officer, Alessandro Boglio, “and this exhibition represents the best of our brand.”

Housed in the Fosun Foundation, “Vision & Virtuosity” offers viewers a glimpse into The Tiffany Archives, contextualizing some of the company’s most iconic moments since its foundation in 1837. Among the documented “Tiffany firsts” will be the introduction of the first modern engagement ring, the Tiffany® Setting.

The retrospective will be structured through 6 thematic chapters: Blue Is the Color of Dreams (focused on the brand’s iconic color), The World of Tiffany (an examination of Tiffany & Co’s influence on media), The Tiffany Blue Book (a behind-the-scenes look at the artistry of the Blue Book collections), Tiffany Love (a look at the brand’s engagement ring designs) , Breakfast at Tiffany’s (offering insight into Tiffany’s role in the beloved film), and Diamonds: Miracles of Nature (a room which will allow viewer’s a close-up look at some of the brand’s most famous diamonds). “There are many incredible objects in The Tiffany Archives that we draw inspiration from and we are constantly finding ways to reinvent and reinterpret them for our designs today,” stated Tiffany & Co.’s chief artistic officer, Reed Krakoff, on the subject of the show’s content and structure. “With this exhibition, we honor the past and show how beauty and masterful craftsmanship are timeless and always relevant.”

Vision & Virtuosity” opens to the public on September 23, and runs through November 10, 2019 in Shanghai, China at the Fosun Foundation Shanghai.
