For the first night of the Rau Răm Pop-up, The Standard, Hollywood honored Kulapat Yantrasast, designer of the inaugural Frieze LA. The event was co-hosted by Chomwan Weeraworawit (The Standard Creative + Cultural Director Asia) and Ivan Pun with a host committee of artists Korakrit Arunanondchai, Kathryn Andrews, Thomas Demand, Lauren Halsey and Mary Weatherford.
Croft Alley at The Standard, Hollywood hosted Rau Răm Pop-up, Rau Răm being the brainchild of Hong Kong and Myanmar-based entrepreneur and art patron Ivan Pun and Hawaiian-born chef Kevin Ching. This was the first debut offering of Kevin’s signature, regional, “Asian/Asian” fusion cuisine. At Rau Răm, Kevin explored how distinct South East Asian flavors can exist harmoniously yet retain their unique identity. For 2 nights only, the pop-up offered a prix-fixe 7-course menu that celebrates a vision of contemporary South East Asian cuisine.
