Slashed by Tia | Spring/Summer 2020
Emerging designer Teni Adeola took guests back in time as she presented her Spring/Summer 2020 collection in a New York City neo-renaissance dreamland. Inspired by the French Revolution, 16 looks graced the Ballroom that matched the opulence of the clothes. Tia, a recent New School graduate is rewriting history through creating wearable art. In her over 7 years of art history studies, as a woman of color, she has yet to find someone that looks like her. Dedicated to being seen as a designer and woman of color, she feels inclined to put modern spins on French aristocracy before The French Revolution and subsequent cultural shifts. Tia is revolutionizing the world of fashion through being authentically herself.
Her show last night at the Prince George Ballroom in New York City included models Ebonee Davis, Adriana Mora, Selah Marley and Diana Veras, singer Raveena, DJ Amrit and Marci Rodgers all draped in her delicate pieces styled by Bianca Arielle Bailey . Hand-beaded pearl face masks and extravagant hats created an ominous vibe that elevated the ethereal atmosphere of the unforgettable evening.
