In celebration of [RSVP](https://www.instagram.com/rsvpgallery/)’s 10th anniversary, the conceptual retail gallery is teaming up with [Sprite](https://www.instagram.com/sprite/) to host a series of artists workshops and masterclasses at their Chicago location from August 4th to the 10th. The talks will cover a range of topics from fashion photography to design, each led by a Chicago native. To honor RSVP’s milestone, Chicago-based artist [HML](https://www.instagram.com/hai_ey/) left her mark on the gallery with a larger than life mural emphasizing RSVP and Chicago’s long running history with Sprite. _Flaunt_ got the chance to catch up with the artist about the collab.  > [ > > View this post on Instagram > > ](https://www.instagram.com/p/B0l6fBolPsL/) > > [A post shared by RSVP Gallery (@rsvpgallery)](https://www.instagram.com/p/B0l6fBolPsL/) on Jul 31, 2019 at 12:12pm PDT **How did you get involved with this project?** This project started when an agency named Crown and Conquer reached out to me to see if I would be interested in participating in an activation with RSVP and Sprite. **What's the process that goes behind creating a mural of this scale?** Typically when I create at this scale, I’ll take a photo of the space and use my iPad to draw my ideas directly on top.  This way I can see exactly how the image will look in real life. **Do you ever get nervous that you'll make a mistake?** I tend to be slightly nervous about client work because there are so many factors that go into having a successful piece that I love and the client feels conveys their message.  As far as mistakes, those are just part of working on new projects. With this particular project I had to paint directly onto glass windows which is much more difficult than painting on walls or canvas.  I had my reservations, but it’s fun to do new things and have to find the best way to make it work. > [ > > View this post on Instagram > > ](https://www.instagram.com/p/B0v3x-jHvsh/) > > [A post shared by HML (@hai\_ey)](https://www.instagram.com/p/B0v3x-jHvsh/) on Aug 4, 2019 at 9:05am PDT **Did you get creative freedom from RSVP x Sprite to paint what you wanted?** I had a lot of creative freedom for this project.  With any client work, there are a few drafts of an image to make sure logos are correct and the message of the company is conveyed as successfully as possible. **What was your inspiration for the piece?** I’m always inspired by women so I make sure to have a woman at the forefront of all of my designs. The design is light and fun, just showing her enjoying RSVP and Sprite. **How long did it take to complete?** This project took two and a half days, mostly because I decided to do it alone. **If you could paint one of your girls on any building in the world, which one would it be?** I don’t have a particular building I’d like to paint on. I just enjoy painting places where people really appreciate the work. Stop by RSVP Gallery in Chicago this week to see HML’s mural and take part in the 10th anniversary festivities!
