A Photo Series of Personal Spaces Compiled by Our Friends and Lovers

IDYLL are Jojo and Angelina, the feme fatale electronic music duo based out of Chicago.

Jojo: This is my palm plant, Audrey III. Like his namesake, Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, Audrey III has an insatiable hunger and is growing exponentially. He stands at 10ft tall and is slowly starting to take over my entire apartment. Also pictured: my childhood piano that was shipped to Chicago from NY, and a Peter Jellitsch drawing based on WIFI data patterns.

I typically find all of my essentials on my dresser. Rogue allergy pill, sunnies, Burt’s Bees, cat named Fidel, etc...

A lot of my time is spent in this tiny corner of my room aka IDYLL HQ. Above my computer, there's a photo… of myself (⌒_⌒;) taken by my brother from another mother, photographer Kyle LaMere. I’m slightly embarrassed because it looks like I stare at my own face for creative inspo… alright, maybe I do.

Angelina: In 2011 I was prepping to play SXSW with my then band p.g.d.m (members now in LOLAWOLF). I asked a friend to style me for the shows. We picked out some fabric at a local resale shop and she made this hood for me. I still wear it often.

I move often. Because of this I've given up most of my material possessions. It's easier to know myself when my things don't own me. The one constant I keep in every new space are Mexican candles from the super mercado and my guitar. A little alter to clear my head and create. Amen.

I keep a few paper lanterns above my bed. They remind me of little clouds. Clouds to rest my head under. I usually hang a few hats on the wall to add a feminine touch. It also reminds me of a simpler time. When all a woman needed was a silk robe for sleeping and a hat to protect her skin from the sun during an afternoon stroll.

Catch IDYLL tonight when they open for HOLT and Virgil Abloh (aka Flat White).
