Paul Heyer is a Chicago-based artist who has been exhibiting at Night Gallery since it’s premiere show in 2010. Blue Boy will be his fourth solo exhibition at the gallery. In his newest work, named after Thomas Gainsborough’s famous painting “Blue Boy”, Heyer reflects on the art of transformation through his futuristic-gothic paintings of skeletons over absurdist interpretations of nature.

Hall of Mirrors is Shanghai-based Jin Shan’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles. The artist reimagines statues of antiquity by ways of distortion. In doing this, Jin Shan exemplifies the contortion of Western values while acknowledging its existing framework. Shan’s Hall of Mirrors is a modern interpretation of The Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles.

Blue Boy and Hall of Mirrors will be on display until July 13 at Night Gallery.
