Forty years later, the brand put on a runway show in Tokyo. The collection styling was inspired by baseball, and appropriately so. To celebrate the anniversary in the country, Brooks Brothers hosted the presentation in the Indoor Baseball Practice Field of the city’s iconic Meiji Jingu Gaien national stadium complex. Models walked the bases to a soundtrack influenced by songs from 1979, the year Brooks Brothers opened its first Japan location. 2019 Brooks Brothers Japan Look 1.jpg ![2019 Brooks Brothers Japan Look 1.jpg](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472b7554ce71b9f39d1a303_2019%2BBrooks%2BBrothers%2BJapan%2BLook%2B1.jpeg) “We are proud of our long and storied history in Japan,” brand’s Chairman and CEO Claudio Del Vecchio said. “Brooks Brothers, like Japan, shares a unique heritage of honoring tradition and celebrating innovation.” ![](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472b7554ce71b9f39d1a30b_image-asset.jpeg) In keeping with that heritage, coats and jackets presented featured classic silhouettes while featuring innovative construction and fabrics. The clothing lineup ranged from sportswear and suiting to evening-wear layered under puffy parkas and classic trenches. Tweed fabrics made a significant appearance — a Harris Tweed take on Brooks Brothers’ famous patchwork opened the show, and a dinner jacket in herringbone tweed wrapped up the event. With 25 locations in Tokyo alone, America’s oldest apparel brand is sure to keep their mainstay status in Japanese style for years to come. ![](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472b7554ce71b9f39d1a2ff_image-asset.jpeg) * * *
