Shanina Shaik, Jeneil Williams and Jasmine Tookes Obscene City: The Elixir Issue ¡No Agua! Our latest sabbatical of egregious glamour and delicious depravity began a mere high-heeled shuffle from Flaunt HQ in Hollywood. Our Louboutin’s weren’t made for walking, but that’s just what they did, 2000 feet down Highland Avenue to the Louis Vuitton Series 2 Exhibition. Inspiration was the order of the day as we sipped from our champagne flutes and pondered the creative process behind Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring Summer ’15 Ready-to-Wear collection. From inspiration to perspiration, our footwear transformed—in a white-swan-to-black-swan flutter-of-feathers—from pumps into our comfiest Prada kicks, and we gyrated, grooved, jumped and jived to Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons at Mack Sennett Studios in Silver Lake for a Flaunt co-hosted event. The after party descended into the basement in a haze of colored lights and re-appropriated tequila, and our feet kept moving, moving, moving, until a golden chariot piloted by Polish beauties whisked us to a lazy sunrise over the Los Angeles sprawl. Flaunt has its genesis in the Lone Star State, so we are entirely at home in large hats and leather chaps, and with this can-do, can-wear attitude, we snatched a first-class ticket to Texas, and took SXSW by storm. In conjunction with the athletic style brokers, ’47 Brand, Flaunt delivered THE ELIXIR SESSIONS to the good people of Austin. Our big hat game was solidly outdone by Yelawolf who joined our sizzling lineup to record sessions alongside; Dead Sara, Vince Staples, Twin Peaks, Until the Ribbon Breaks, MSMR, Hudson Mohawke, La Luz, Stromae, Fort Romeau, Shamir, BJ The Chicago Kid, King Tuff, Hodgy Beats, Elliphant, Jacco Gardner, PELL, THEESatisfaction, QT, Hannah Diamond, and GFOTY. Gosh. We were busy. Fender provided a quiver of their finest guitars, Tequila Avión provided their elixir for THE ELIXIR SESSIONS and Flaunt provided the dignified fortitude to enjoy our Avión with ice as an accompaniment to each and every session. Back to California, where Flaunt participated in the celebrations for the launch of the new Diesel Tribute line by Nicola Formichetti. We partied, we after-partied, and we after-after partied with the fashion set before our legs dissolved into the lantern-lit dancefloor of the Blind Dragon in West Hollywood. The following evening the sunset swept us into the Flaunt co-hosted reception for Bonhams’ auctions MADE IN CALIFORNIA: CONTEMPORARY ART and TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT (WHAT YOU REALLY REALLY WANT) on Sunset Boulevard. The event saw the SPiN professional ping pong team play on Ry Rocklen’s gloriously fabulous ping pong table. Unbeknownst to SPiN, Flaunt’s drop shot is surpassed only by its indefatigable sense of style, so champagne in hand, we took them in (figuratively) straight sets. A lob, a serve, some BC powder, a quick squirt of Botox, and our smiles set to impassive, we crossed coasts to share a toast in New York for the DSQUARED2 store opening in Soho. At the private dinner afterwards we caught up with Mary J. Blige over a prawn cocktail, then discussed the Euro-debt crisis with Tyson Beckford and Chanel Iman.
