Imthxfuture might still be young, but in the last 12 months, he’s emerged as one of the most promising artists in the rap game. His 2023 single, ‘Lifestyle,’ was a significant moment for himself and his crew - and he already has plans to capitalize on the global attention it brought him.

As 2023 entered its second half, Brisbane-born rap artist Imthxfuture was traveling around New York, getting a first-hand taste of how much of an impact he’d had on the music scene.

Following his single ‘Lifestyle’ release in June last year, the young, budding artist went from being an underground favorite to quickly becoming a global sensation.

In the years since he’d started making music (he says he first released tunes when he was 12). Still young, he had also played regularly in venues and clubs throughout Brisbane and other parts of Australia.

But ‘Lifestyle’ took things to the next level for Yung Future. The single was a big, striking, head-turning trap-rap song, which was incredibly well produced and well executed, with a beautiful music video to go alongside it. It was done independently, with Imthxfuture and his team (including his brother/manager) making their ambitious art on their terms.

‘Lifestyle’ attracted interest. Major record labels contacted Imthxfuture to see if he’d sign with them, while promoters were trying to see if he’d be interested in touring and performing in the US.

Imthxfuture and his team went to the States with a few ideas in mind and a list of meetings scheduled with some of the biggest names in the business. Above all, they wanted to ensure they did things on their terms and nobody else’s. ‘Lifestyle’ had been an independent venture, and they wanted to ensure that - whatever came next - they retained that independent spirit.

As it happened, Yung Future joined forces with Chris Clemenza, the recognized music manager and label owner from New Jersey. The choice was solid, considering Clemenza has been at the forefront of helping young, emerging artists get the international stature they deserved.

Things moved quickly. Imthxfuture was teamed up with other significant artists so that they could bounce ideas off each other. Before he knew it, he was working with established artists such as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Matt Ox, Jay Critch, Squidnice, and NFL star Antonio Brown. He integrated himself seamlessly into American hip-hop culture and showcased that he was already a natural star.

Imthxfuture has revealed exactly how he plans to capitalize on the initial success of ‘Lifestyle.’ On February 15, he’ll release his latest single, ‘How I’m Living.’ The track will feature Antonio Brown and Jay Critch, allowing fans to see what the trio have been cooking up together during their collaborative period.

For the Imthxfuture fans waiting to see if he’d break into being a mainstream artist, it looks like his moment is finally arriving.

‘Lifestyle’ is out now. ‘How I’m Living’ drops on February 15.
