The trailer for Guillermo del Toro's new movie _The Shape of Water_ dropped today, and we've got major goosebumps. Del Toro, the auteur director of _Pan's Labyrinth_ and _The Hobbit_ franchise, worked again with his longtime collaborator and cinematographer Dan Laustsen to create T_he Shape of Water_, and the gorgeous trailer filled with del Toro and Laustsen's dark, moody aesthetics is a testament to that partnership.  Set in the 1960s, the combination romance and science fiction tells the story of Elisa, played by Sally Hawkins, a mute woman who works in a government laboratory. The film becomes a dark, twisted version of a fairy tale as it follows Elisa as she forms a relationship with a human-like aquatic creature who is trapped in the lab. Other actors in the film include Octavia Spencer, Michael Shannon and Doug Jones.  _The Shape of Water_ opens in theaters on December 8th. Watch the trailer below:  * * * Written by: Helen Murphy
