In celebration of a decade of collaboration with Belgian artist Rinus Van de Velde, [Tim Van Laere Gallery](https://www.timvanlaeregallery.com) presents its sixth solo exhibition of the artist. Van de Velde taps into a new medium in his repertoire with this exhibition: oil pastel drawings.

Rinus Van de Velde. “He has been drifting around” (2021). Oil pastel on paper. 101 cm x 66.7 xm.
Known for his work which seeks to explore the tensions between what is real and fake, Van de Velde uses a variety of media from drawing and sculpture to installation and film. For over a decade he has searched for a color technique in drawing that carried the same expressive power as his charcoal drawings—a signature of his.

Finally Van de Velde found what he was looking for in oil pastels, a material that allows a wider range of creative possibilities than charcoal.
This exhibition, which will run from October 14th to November 19th, appears to serve as both a Swiss vault, keeping the most precious treasures safe, and an athenaeum where images are archived for years to come.
