A sweet, soft-spoken tone match her fierce dominatrix look, like a modern-day Betty Boop. Custom-made accessories adorn the racks of her office magnified under a beam of neon pink. A trailblazer in the realm of lingerie, Yeha crafts handmade fetish wear to embellish everyday-wear. Empowering women and the female figure, she accentuates the natural bodice with crystals, black leather, and chains. I met Yeha in her NY-based design studio and showroom to discuss her business, [Creepyyeha](https://creepyyeha.storenvy.com/), Burlesque culture, Dita Von Teese, and the beauty of the human figure. ![YEHA-3.jpg](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/56c346b607eaa09d9189a870/1553737560314-M855Z9U59UUHLGOVLW2M/YEHA-3.jpg) ![YEHA-12.jpg](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/56c346b607eaa09d9189a870/1553737584536-Y0HETXTGGWI4ECA48HNT/YEHA-12.jpg) #block-yui\_3\_17\_2\_1\_1553533729968\_750974 .sqs-gallery-block-grid { margin-right: -20px; } #block-yui\_3\_17\_2\_1\_1553533729968\_750974 .sqs-gallery-block-grid .sqs-gallery-design-grid-slide .margin-wrapper { margin-right: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px; } **_When and how did Creepyyeha begin?_** Like many, I was unsure of what I was gonna do for work after design school. At the same time, my online blog, titled Creepyyeha was gaining some traction. The URL-turned-name of the brand comes from merging my Chinese name Yeha, and the word “creepy” as a reference of the horror inspired content I used to post.  Aside from mood content, I would post outfits and designs made by me. At first it was a few orders here and there, mostly through word of mouth, and later on, I started to take it more seriously and opened up an online shop.  **_What aspects of BDSM and Burlesque culture influence your design process?_** I am mostly influenced by the overall aesthetics of them. They both have a very rich history in relations to materials, colors, and texture. ![](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472b631481fe273cf93870a_image-asset.jpeg) **_Favorite piece to date?_** The Rai belt, it is flirty, comfy and it can flatter any body shape.  **_Explain the process of handmaking your products._** I usually start with materials. I source all over the place until I find something that either inspires me or serves as a solution to a previous unfinished idea. If I can't find the right material, we have it custom made. Once you have the raw materials, some require finishing touches before assembling the final piece. This is the part most people are unaware of since it takes a lot of trial and error.  We try our best to deliver smooth finished products, and it takes some prep time to get it right. > [ > > View this post on Instagram > > ](https://www.instagram.com/p/BmELTOvAmrU/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_medium=loading) > > [A dream team @amandalepore for @wussymag Photographed by one of my fave @orograph 🌹](https://www.instagram.com/p/BmELTOvAmrU/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_medium=loading) > > A post shared by [Yeha Leung](https://www.instagram.com/creepyyeha/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_medium=loading) (@creepyyeha) on Aug 4, 2018 at 10:24am PDT **_Solange, FKA Twigs, Kali Uchis, John Yuyi, Amanda Lepore, and Cardi B, are just a few notable celebrities wearing your designs. If you could dress anyone in Creepyyeha, who would it be and why?_** Dita Von Teese. She is amazing. Self-made, and always embraces glamour. I love that. She is someone I aspire to be like.  **_How do you aim to embellish and glorify the human figure?_** I wanna glorify and play with the human figure with no restrictions. I like to translate beauty from one realm to another. For example, the latest Creepyyeha crystal set modeled by Fka Twigs and most recently Solange, was inspired by a chandelier in the background of a picture a friend took.
