The recognition of Apfel majorily blew up beyond the fashion pages after the success of Albert Maysles’ 2014 documentary about her, Iris. In the documentary she refers to herself as the “geriatric starlet,” but Apfel has proven that she is still turning heads, making stylistic statements, and ultimately running circles around fashions younger generation.
She’s also the face of the new advertising campaign for Citroën, as well as the face of the Australian label Blue Illusion’s “Ageless” range.
