Down, Down, Down in Chinatown
We joined the treasure hunt and dug to the grooves of Miguel and Shlomo for Adidas' NMD\_LA
After a labyrinthine hunt for parking in a maze of warehouses and industrial spaces in Chinatown, we stepped into the discreet aluminum shell that had been transformed for the concluding event of Adidas’ NMD\_LA celebration—headlined by natives Miguel, Shlomo, and Kilo Kish.
The NMD\_LA exploration had began with twitter takeovers from Lakers forward Nick Young, skate scene star Atiba Jefferson, and Kogi King Roy Choi, whom led a treasure hunt across the city for the coveted NMD sneakers via clues scattered through their social media. Adidas’ NMD is the company’s latest sneaker since Yeezys, and like Yeezys the NMD sold out within an hour of its release.
The gorgeous Kilo Kish played a fun set of #tbt middle school slow jamz, and Shlohmo treated the crowd with a syrupy set. Miguel performed to all the wildhearts in the crowd, demonstrating his incredible vocal range as he crooned and delivered his hits Adore and Coffee, tickling the crowd by singing the intro to Travis Scott’s Antidote, and Down in the DM.
