Obscene City: The Reflections Issue

by Flaunt Editorial Staff

It could be said that behind every great disco ball lies an even greater disco ball. Balls? We’ve had our share! Consider the bash we threw a few weeks back with our pals AG poolside at the venerable Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where the inimitable The Kills laid down some hot sound coil, and people lost their minds, Heinekens in their tightly clenched paws, while DJs Will Calcutt, then Matt Shultz of Sparkle City pushed the levels. Heineken didn’t stop there, paving a path of green all the way to NYC, along with Reebok, to toast their sneaker collab with hip-hop superstar Future—who graced the cover of our Eternal Issue in said superfly sneakers—at the SIXTY SoHo Hotel avec bebidos by Hudson Baby Bourbon, Reyka Vodka, Hendrick’s Gin, Milagro Tequila, and cuts by The Rassle.

We piled high the sedatives and laid low in the Big Apple for a spell, only to emerge from the sewers covered in Secret Ooze to kiss the cheeks of John John Denim, who dressed additional Eternal Issue cover stars Bill Murray, Jan Vogler & Friends following their Carnegie Hall performance at the spanking new Mondrian Park Avenue, a recent edition to the sexy Journal Hotels portfolio. Onward to the Big Smoke! Where we shucked our Savile Row duds for something more comfortable—Juicy Couture, duh—alongside all-lady DJ collective and besties Les Filles at Kemia in Covent Garden. Honestly, a bit blurry, that one.

Back to Lala, where Aftershock Issue cover girl Riley Keough was toasted by friends, lovers, and partners in trouble L’AGENCE at the Rosy Oyster in Hollywood, Heineken still keeping watch. Those guys! Time for some immersive psychological art, and where better than The Broad Museum, where we co-hosted an influencer preview for the gratuitously popular Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors exhibition, the likes of which currently collates under #infinitela. We won. Next we hit the 101 back to our usual stomping grounds to support Milk Studios’ 3rd Annual Photography Auction to Benefit STORIES: the AIDS Memorial Monument West Hollywood, hosted by Sharon Stone.

Sloughing our three pieces, and shaking out our rows, we called up Snoop Dogg to save a spot at his table for the 50th anniversary of the Levi’s Trucker Hat. Bam. Finally, things got a little rough downtown at the Gentle Monster boutique opening, but in the company of one of your favorite eyewear brands, everything’s refracted, everything’s gravy.
