The six track release features French’s standout single “You Weren’t There Anymore,” offering a more intimate, vulnerable outlook in her lyrics. French’s role as the cheerleader in her music video for the EP’s third track, out on Feb. 14, allows her to conceptualize the single. The [Cory Nixon](https://www.corynixon.com)\-directed video features French’s character auditioning for the high school cheerleading team, as she sings nonchalantly— eerily lit in front of two members of the squad. The video proceeds with French as a member of the team, each cheerleader donning a uniform with the word “Negative” in reference to the artist’s moniker. Featuring a love triangle, coke addiction, and melancholy lyrics— the video depicts the uncanny reality of adolescence. Nixon visualized the concept by watching the classic cheerleading movie “Bring it On” on mute while simultaneously listening to the “Twin Peaks” soundtrack. “I feel like if David Lynch wrote ‘Bring it On’ it would look something like this,” said French. In celebration of the EP’s one year anniversary, Negative Gemini will be announcing a second vinyl pressing in conjunction with the music video premiere, out on Valentine’s Day. * * * Photo courtesy of Tess Elizabeth W.  & Milana Burdette
