A friend once described my home as "if Peter Pan were a city dweller, with musical instruments."

My roof dog:

One time i got in an uber and told them my address and the driver said "omg i live right there too". i commented that i have the dog who always hangs on the roof. and he goes, "roof dog? oh we love her. we've written songs about her". i felt extremely proud of my dog and her muse-like roof presence.

I love lying on the floor and projecting videos onto my ceiling. it feels like i'm in a drive in movie theatre - it's inspiring and relaxing and takes me out of my head .

Instagram may be my favorite social media app, but i love to print out highlights of the year and keep them on my wall. a lot of these pictures are of family members who have passed away this year - including my dad and grandfather - and pictures from the making of this record.

Speaking of studio, this is the room where 'love you with the lights on' went from a late night idea at my piano to the record you hear now. Ryan Marrone (pictured here) helped me bring this song to life in his bedroom studio.

When i finish a song i write the lyrics down in my notebook. it helps me to see what i'm saying and helps me to feel like i've completed an idea so i can move on. they say once you write a song it is no longer "yours" - it's place is now in the world for others to have and hold.
