Dream Girl SZA Gets Revenge on Her Ex in 'Supermodel' Video: Watch Here
SZA’s debut album CTRL came out a little over a month ago, and now she's gearing up for her tour to support the brutally honest record. Its opening track, “Supermodel,” is where she pleads to a love interest that she could be everything he desires. Today (July 31) the R&B singer shared the new music video for it--the third clip overall from CTRL.
In the beginning, SZA stands in front of a mirror in a robe and underwear (the thong has “CTRL” written on the front—a nice touch) before strutting out of the tent into a forest of fairy children. The childlike setting for the music video juxtaposes the song’s more adult-themed lyrics, where the first verse includes lines like “Let me tell you a secret / I've been secretly banging your homeboy / While you in Vegas all up on Valentine’s Day? / Why am I so easy to forget like that? / It can’t be that easy for you to get like that.”
The backdrop works, though, to highlight the album’s deeper themes about love vulnerability, and the willingly naive decisions people often make in relationships. The video is curently an Apple Music exclusive. Give it a watch and let us know what you think.
