Mind Control, Orange Dreams and More: PartyNextDoor's a Walking Fiesta
At Flaunt, we always do our research. As part of our standard effort to ascertain the cultural vitality of our proposed features, we examined PartyNextDoor in depth. We liked what we saw – collabs with heavy-hitters like Kanye, Ne-Yo, and T-Pain in the works; a fresh EP, Colours 2, out on OVO Sound (boss and buddy Drake's record label under the Warner Brothers umbrella) hot off the press; a history of chart-toppers including writing creds for Rihanna’s colossal hit “Work”; 1.8M Instagram Followers and impressive engagement metrics.
But what really sealed the deal was the information we attained after hacking into his emails*. Tsk, tsk, Party – a star like you should be well aware that a simple mail transfer protocol isn’t going to cut it security-wise. No backdoor encryption? Too easy. And, really, “FIESTA” is not a very robust password. If what we found was true, we loved it, especially later in the summer: dozens of deeply passionate fan letters written to Party, each receiving a lovingly crafted answer. We’ve reprinted a few of our favorites here for your reading pleasure.
*"Hacking," as in we made up some fan questions to go along with PND's actual answers to our interview questions.*

This will be the 33rd letter I’ve written to you this month. Although ur publicist has asked me to stop several times I simply cannot. I know you must think I’m insane. I am not. I have a masters degree in psychology. I have NEVER been diagnosed with any psychotic disorder. I feel strongly aligned to you. The universe continues to send me signs of our journey together and I MUST obey them. You understand music and its relationship to our experience here on Earth on a completely different level. If you answer these questions I promise I’ll leave you alone…IF THAT’S WHAT YOU WANT. I just want to know Party: do you think music is capable of mind control? How so? And when you think of the future, what do you think of? What are you working on? What’s next?
PartyNextDoor : Is music capable of mind control? Definitely, it’s how you sell shoes, it’s how you sell magazines, it’s how you sell clothes, it’s what wakes you up, it’s what alerts you that someone is calling your phone. Music is used & justified to be the tick that let’s you know a commercial break is about to come on. You get the point. When I think of the future, what do I think of? Family & Gods work & my work ethic & creating a Joyful future. What am I working on? What’s next? On the mission to Greatness. To continue to inspire all of music aka mind control, remember lol

Darlin, you are too good for this life my love. Every time I think of you or someone mentions your name I get goosebumps on every inch of my body...EVERY SINGLE INCH baby. I know we were twin flames in a past life. I feel you and I would make an amazing couple, like Jay and Beyonce. That’s how I see us, Party. I’m an aspiring designer and you always light a fire of creative passion and desire in me each time one of your looks pops up on my newsfeed. I would describe your style as breezy chic. How would you define your personal style?
PartyNextDoor: Shontelle baby, I’m currently in a hooded robe, Gucci slides with my hair down. It’s a work fit. Tomorrow I have an event...I’ll most likely be in Vans and everything above will be dramatic and over priced but that’s what I like. I guess my style is whatever I personally like... I don’t have to be anybody but me, and you can’t be party if you’re not comfortable, and I’m always gunna be me.

My name is Yoga Sensei Blue River from Santa Monica. I teach beach yoga, hot yoga, and yoga boxing. I tell my clients to relax their faces so they don’t have to take a trip to the M.D. to take care of the 11’s. That is the 11 lines that are vertical and found between the eyebrows. I always tell them, “Girls, girls – you can get the results you want without botox and fillers! Just listen to some good ol’ PND.” Based on your music, you’re honest about dealing with angels and demons. I want to know what kind of energy you keep in your circle – who’s at your table? It’s obvious that your music is therapeutic, but you’re name is Party, so what gives you joy – define artistic deviance? What’s the color of your dreams?
PartyNextDoor: Ay, Yoga Sensei Blue River. At my table there is an angel to my left and an angel to my right. And whoever has an appetite. Artistic deviance is doing what you want. I kind of knowingly set myself up for that by telling everyone to call me Party. It’ll forever be my alibi to do as I please, as long as I continue to be an artist. What’s the color of my dreams? Black unless I’m falling asleep outside in the sun, then it’s like a tan orange.

Hola fiesta (jaja)! Me encantan todas tus canciones. Me pones en un estado de ánimo tan elevado!
Whats up party! I love all of your songs. You put me in such a high elevated mood. When I listen to your lyrics I feel like I’m unstoppable man. My ex and I have been going through some changes, trying to figure out whether we should be together or not. I keep trying to hit her up but she says that she ‘needs space.’ But I know she’s the one! Anyway, your music always reminds me to stop sweating the small stuff and just live my best life, yea know? It always keeps me going while I’m sweating my ass off in the kitchen, making lasagna and shit all day. I swear sometimes I see her face in the spaghetti and meatballs. . . I think about my girl whenever I hear my favorite lyric of yours: “Never gonna not not hit that, your lovin’ is drugs to me.” What’s your favorite lyric from a recent song you’ve written?
PartyNextDoor : Eric, my favorite would be, "Fiesta does what Fiesta says." Clearly, I enjoy freedom... And like speaking in third person I guess.
