After four years as Creative and Image Director of the esteemed Saint Laurent Fashion house, Hedi Slimane has left to pursue work elsewhere. In his four years, Slimane aimed to elevate Saint Laurent through a repositioning of the house’s entire brand. His work throughout this time proved measurably successful, in one year elevating revenue by 38 percent. Slimane’s bold decisions which directly influenced this growth included relocating the design studio from Paris to L.A., redesigning the company’s logo, and dropping the “Yves” from the company’s name. By revamping Saint Laurent's tone, Slimane created a more edgy, grungier aesthetic that garnered fashion world admiration.
