JACK & JACK PLAY AT THE BELASCO

by Tyler Mazaheri

This past Wednesday, Jack & Jack—a pop-rap duo made up of Jack Johnson and Jack Gilinsky—played at the Belasco Theater here in Los Angeles, sharing a taste of their latest work in preparation for their 25 city tour across North America. Breakout stars from our beloved Vine app, the two now spend their time pursuing their true passion—music. After gaining such a loyal following through the platform, with over 4 million followers, their claim to fame was inevitable. From the looks of it, it’s clear the two have made great strides since finding stardom through their six-second clips. Having released their debut album A Good Friend Is Nice this past January, with hit-single “No One Compares To You,” already garnering 6.6 million Youtube views and over 45 million audio streams, the pop-rap duo’s future looks bright—even being dubbed “the future” by Timbaland. With accomplishments so large as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the MTV EMA’s already under their belt, who knows what all this young group is capable of. I guess we’ll have to wait and find out. I wish the two best of luck on tour and I can’t wait to see what all is to come.
