The anticipated Manolo Blahnik retrospective documentary, _Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards,_ finally has a release date. The film is directed by close friend of Blahnik, Michael Roberts, and covers the forty year span of his career in shoe design—from his infatuation with lizards and shoes as a child, all the way to his iconic shoe label esteemed by the world of high fashion. Some highlights include the late Diana Vreeland, former editor-in-chief of _Vogue,_ encouraging Blahnik to pursue his career and bring his sketches to life—making him the first man to be featured on the cover of British _Vogue_ in 1974, shot by David Bailey, and giving birth to his beloved label. Narrated by Blahnik himself, the documentary features appearances by some of the biggest names in modern fashion—including André Leon Talley, Rihanna, Naomi Campbell, and even Anna Wintour, who speaks highly of Manolo Blahniks’ designs saying, “I can't remember the last time I wore anybody else’s shoes. I mean I just don't even look at them.” Check out the trailer, and be sure to mark your calendars as the retrospective documentary will release later this month on September 29, 2017.  * * * Written by Alex Ceballos
