Louis Vuitton’s Volez, Voguez, Voyagez Exhibition Opens With a Bang

by Robyn Merrett

It was an A-list affair on Thursday (Oct. 26) as stars and fashion influencers flocked to the former American Stock Exchange building in New York City to celebrate the opening of Volez, Vogez, Voyagez - Louis Vuitton. The exhibition was curated by historian, Oliver Saillard, and remembers Louis Vuitton’s eminent journey from 1854 to now.

This thematic excursion through time was designed by artistic director and set designer Robert Carsen. The exhibit was divided into 10 chapters that took up two floors. It was packed with signature trunks, monogrammed leathers and artist collaborations. Some of the chapters included categories like automobiles, train, travel and celebrities. The celebrity styled room featured “the most famous” outfits worn on the red carpet including Madonna’s 2009 Met Gala dress and Nicole Kidman’s 2015 Oscar gown.

Following the exhibition preview, guests were invited to Pier 17 to vibe out with a DJ set from Mark Ronson and Off-White’s Virgil Abloh.

The exhibition will be open to the public from October 27, 2017 through January 7, 2018.
