Unofficially ending his collaboration with Reebok, Kendrick Lamar lands new parternship with Nike announcing via [twitter](https://twitter.com/kendricklamar/status/901535333833031680) “Cortez Since day one. [#teamnike](https://twitter.com/hashtag/teamnike?src=hash).” The rapper subtly alluded to the collaboration rocking an all white pair of the round-toe sneaker in his energetic [VMA performance last night.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VDv6h-3StI) Kendrick has also been spotted wearing the iconic shoe throughout his DAMN tour.
The Cortez was initially designed in Oregon in 1972 as the companies first running shoe but quickly became a West Coast staple after being adopted by Eazy E of NWA and Snoop Dogg of the Dogg Pound gang.
This past summer for the Cortez's 45th birthday, Nike pumped a new life into the sneaker with fresh colorways models sported in campaigns featuring the likes of Bella Hadid and rapperBuddy.
Details of the new relationship between K Dot and Nike are currently unknown but we're guessing that a limited edition Kendrick Lamar Cortez will be on the shelves of sneaker boutiques in the future.
