Dilara Findikoglu's SS18 Collection is Hauntingly Beautiful
Yesterday (Sept. 19), Flaunt attended the Dilara Findikoglu Spring/Summer 2018 runway show. Dilara, the London based designer is known for her rebellious nature, and impeccable tailoring with use of historical allusions. Her past collections carried themes of witchcraft and otherworldly creatures giving glam goths everywhere a designer to look up to.
The SS18 show displayed inspiration from many different eras and themes. The Victorian era presented itself throughout the collection with emphasis on silhouettes, undergarments and ruching. There were also references to the '80s punk era with spiked colored hair, dark makeup, and bondage from Vivienne Westwood’s seditionaries collection.
Dilara’s design focus is all in the details with safety-pin trimmings, graphic patchwork, and intricate embellishment. Findikoglu’s design approach is hauntingly original setting herself apart from other designers at London Fashion Week.
