Karl Lagerfeld predicted April showers at Paris fashion week. Chanel debuted its Spring/Summer 2018 collection and ready-to-wear rain ponchos dominated the runway. Kaia Gerber opened the show in a fringed twill jacket and skirt combo accessorized with translucent earrings, thigh-high heels, and a rain hat.

Soft spring hues of blue, green and yellow adorned the first 20 looks, then shifted towards a more classic color subject: black, white, and baby pink. Transparent accessories were a constant theme carried throughout the collection, giving each look an airy aura. These transparent accents were incorporated in the shoes, gloves, hats, and jewelry of the collection.

Inspiration from 1920s fashion was sprinkled on many of the garments, paying homage to the queen of '20s fashion: Coco Chanel. Models in layered skirts, power suits, and flapper-esque dresses strutted down the runway, but it was the closing look that had us all feeling the Gatsby vibes.
