Amazon Has Created Tech that Designs Clothes and Predicts Trends

by Brad Wete

You might have heard of Amazon’s drone delivery, Prime Air, or the Amazon Echo (Alexa) but
Amazon is now on to their next smart machine: a fashion designer.

Lab126, the San Francisco-based Amazon research center, has recently developed an artificial
intelligence that can recognize fashion trends and popular styles. The machine can then create
it’s own clothing articles (from scratch) based on its findings. More clearly stated, Amazon has created tech that can design clothes.

According to the MIT Technology Review, human designers thankfully are not out of work just yet. Humans have a creative, original, and artistic ability that machines have yet to duplicate.

How would you feel about wearing clothes designed by machinery?
