by Lily Burdis

If you’ve heard of ComplexCon, then you know all about the fabulous music performances paired with major industry panels, and celebrity appearances. This year we saw performances from Future, Rae Sremmurd, Nav, Lil Baby, Tinashe and T-Pain, panels from Virgil Abloh, Jaden Smith, Nas, Tommy Hilfiger, Jerry Lorenzo and Lewis Hamilton which was hosted by Takashi Murakami and Pharrell Williams. Over the years ComplexCon has gained a reputation for its limited sneaker drops and collaborations between all different artists and designers that brings the hypebeasts from all over America down to Long Beach.

This year for Fall/Winter ‘18 we got too see a collaboration between Guess Jeans U.S.A and the multifaceted, cultural brand Places + Faces by Imran Ciesay and Solomon Boyed, combining contemporary street culture through analog photography and contemporary music; staying true to the image of both brands while creating something innovative and fresh.

The collaboration mixes film photography into the technical reinterpretation of Guess Jeans U.S.A where reflective detailing features in every aspect of the garments gathering inspiration from the seasonal climate of the U.K. which resulted in the raincoat, bucket hat, photo-vests, cargos and tracksuits for both men and women.
