10 Years of A21 Activism “Do you really think we can abolish slavery everywhere forever? Absolutely.”, says Christine Caine. Ten years ago, Caine was shocked to discover the existence of modern slavery, yet now her life revolves around the subject. A missing person’s ad brought Caine to the realization that something deeper is going on in our world which we rarely address. She discovered that many missing persons are actually victims of sex trade. Caine was overcome with her new found awareness of sex slavery - her eyes were opened and she was undeniably seeing the disturbing truth which hides in plain sight every day. Upon receiving this information Caine founded A21, a non-profit organization fueled by a deep rooted desire for justice and the goal of ending slavery once and for all. Operating in 14 different countries across the globe, A21 brings freedom to those whose lives have been stolen from these traffickers. A21 chooses to see what has been left unseen. The solution Caine created is that of ‘Reach, Rescue, and Restore’. Delving into the darkness of the sex trafficking world to find those who have been kidnapped and enslaved, A21 works to rescue these men, women, and children and bring their lives to full recovery. In honor of the ten years A21 has worked towards the goal of complete abolition, the non- profit group released an informative short film on the topic of sex trafficking. A21 is here to give us the answers we need in order to work towards the change our world deserves.
