BODY TYPE | EP RELEASE

The Australian invasion has seeped into our eardrums and has no plans of slowing down. Some fresh, Aussie blood into the low-fi, garage rock scene comes in the form of Body Type; “A fierce ensemble of women who are writing, living, and learning how to create together,” the words of bassist and vocalist of the band Georgia Wilkinson-Derums speaking for themself. Along with Georgia, the band consists of Cecil Coleman on drums and Annabel Blackman and Sophie McComish on guitar and vocals. As a whole they make up a power-feminist rocker quartet, set to take on the Western world. On Oct. 19, the band will debut their self-titled EP via Inertia and Partisan Records. This 6-track disk features catchy songs such as “Ludlow (Do You Believe in Karma)” and cosmic romance croons like “Arrow.” They have toured with just about every cool band in Australia, such as Frankie Cosmos and POND, and have performed at King Gizzard’s Gizzfest and the Sydney Festival with their own headlining tour set to start Nov. 3. Body Type’s newest music video is DIY-style, showing cuts from the band’s live performances along with humble clips of flowers and behind the scenes footage. It’s this real openness in a world of fake oversharing that draws people toward the image of Body Type. Appearing in the rock scene for barely two years now, the road before the four Sydney-based females is one to keep following. * * * **BODY TYPE TOUR DATES** Sat 3 Nov - FBi Radio Turns 15, Manning Bar - Sydney Sat 10 Nov - End of the Line Festival, Brisbane  Fri 16 Nov - Mojo’s Bar, Fremantle  Sat 17 Nov - Fire Station, Busselton  Fri 30 Nov - Fairgrounds, Berry Sat 1 Dec - Gizzfest, Melbourne Showgrounds Sat 8 Dec - Stonecutters, Adelaide  Thu 13 Dec - Old Bar, Melbourne Fri 14 Dec - The Lansdowne, Sydney  Sat 15 Dec - Festival Of The Sun, Port Macquarie
