Street Artist WRDSMTH To Host First Solo Show In LA
If you ask any LA native about the traffic in the city, they will most likely say these three things: it’s annoying, time consuming, and will leave you with a bad mood. Being stuck on a busy intersection is not the most exciting thing, so anything uplifting and distracting to get you through the madness is always great. If you’ve ever spotted obscure quotes, phrases, or thoughts around LA in a vintage typewriter font, you’re probably looking at work from WRDSMTH— a published writer turned street artist.
WRDSMTH was born and raised in the Midwest, but made his way to LA in the hopes of chasing his dreams. In 2013, he began posting what he calls “WRDS” around LA as a hobby that tied in his love for writing and street art. His work is a unique combination of mixing inspirational messages with stenciling and wheatpasting. Most of WRDSMTH’s work is thought-provoking and leaves the viewer feeling self-assured and ready to tackle the world.
To highlight his first solo show in LA, WRDSMTH will host an art event "I'd Like To Have a WRD With You" in collaboration with Street Art House on November 4. Guests will be the first to view and purchase one of a kind pieces, apparel, and prints of his most popular murals seen in downtown Los Angeles, New York, and beyond.
