Artist Cai Duo-Qiang is preparing to debut his latest solo exhibition at the Prado Museum in Madrid titled _The Spirit of Painting._ The project, which is an ongoing, month-long creation takes inspiration from El Greco, a Greek painter from the 16th century. With the idea of creating a sense of artistic sensibility, the exhibit aims to rejuvenate creativity and the adventurous spirit with a paintbrush. The exhibit will be separated into four different rooms, characterized by different themes Duo-Qiang is exploring in his work: Rise, Development, Shift, and Unification. > [A post shared by Museo Nacional del Prado (@museoprado)](https://www.instagram.com/p/BZ6AAJsBr91/) on Oct 6, 2017 at 5:17am PDT "Rise" experiments with art's simplest elements: color, light, and shadow as it tries to create pieces that mirror that of El Greco's. "Development" focuses on abstraction in painting, "Shift" deals with reflection and introspection, and "Unification" celebrates ancient spirituality as it attempts to connect it to modern day art. Although the on-site process of Guo-Qiang's exhibit begins on October 23 with an explosion of the exhibit's centerpiece, the collection will be open to the public starting on October 27, 2017 until March 4, 2018.
